Solutions

Middle Atlantic’s Forum™ Collaboration Suite.

After surveying various technology solutions and learning devices, Purdue University Fort Wayne selected Legrand | AV, specifically because of the customization capabilities of the Forum™ Collaboration Suite from the Middle Atlantic brand.

The project established five classrooms equipped with six Forum tables and stands arranged around the room. Each student has the opportunity to sit close to a 4K screen, facilitating better access to learning experiences. This design allows instructors to engage students actively in learning and group work. Remote students can easily share and interact with content in class through a camera mounted on the Forum Display.

Ceiling-Mounted Microphone System

To ensure smooth operation, the project team integrated Vaddio’s Easy IP system, which includes ceiling-mounted microphones, a PTZ camera with 20x zoom, and a mixer. The Dante audio system enhances sound quality and enables easy recording of lecture content.

The mics have been awesome. This was our first foray into Dante networked audio.

Additionally, the classrooms utilize Wiremold InteGreat™ AV connection boxes to provide convenient connectivity for each group, including HDMI, Ethernet, and USB ports. Beneath each desk, a mini-computer allows content sharing across all screens in the room.

Result

The streamlined design of audio and visual quality, along with the quick and versatile mode-switching capabilities, has garnered positive feedback from both instructors and students at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

The university has integrated an additional 20 classrooms to enhance lecture recording capabilities using Vaddio’s EasyIP camera system. Notably, a large screen near the camera at the back of the room allows instructors to read their presentation content, creating the impression that they are speaking directly to remote students.
